How soon could I get my hot tub delivered?

At our store, we currently stock a variety of hot tubs in different sizes and configurations. If you find something in our inventory that you like, we can usually have it delivered and ready for use within approximately 2 weeks. We will take care of the placement of the hot tub, but you are responsible for coordinating the electrical hookup and providing an appropriate base for the hot tub.

For those customers who prefer a full-service experience, we also offer general contractor services for the project, which includes handling both the electrical portion and the base preparation. This means that we can take care of all aspects of the installation, from arranging the electrical hookup and ensuring that it is done safely and efficiently, to preparing the base and ensuring that it is level and stable for the hot tub.

Our company is committed to customer satisfaction, which is why we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for all of our hot tubs. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase within the first 30 days, you can return it for a refund.

It’s important to note that there are some exclusions to this guarantee. The installation cost, delivery charges, electrical work, and pad are not included in the refund. Can I try the hot tub before buying yet?

Yes, you can try the hot tub before buying it. In fact, we highly recommend it and have several hot tub and swim spa models available in our showroom now for wet testing.

By “wet testing,” you have the opportunity to physically get in the hot tub or swim spa and experience it for yourself. This can be especially helpful in determining which features are most important to you, which type of seating you prefer (lounge vs open), and which models best suit your needs. This can be especially beneficial if you are considering purchasing a hot tub or swim spa from a brand or series that you are not familiar with.

You don’t need an appointment to come and test out the hot tubs and swim spas in our showroom. Just bring a swimsuit or shorts and feel free to drop by anytime. We welcome you to come in and make the most of the opportunity to wet test the various models and brands that we have available. This can be a helpful way to determine which features and characteristics are most important to you and to find the perfect hot tub or swim spa for your needs. We hope to see you soon!

Do you sell salt water hot tubs?

Yes, we sell salt water compatible hot tubs. Here’s a little more information about salt water systems.

A salt water system is a type of water filtration and sanitation system that can be added to many hot tubs. It works by using electrolysis to produce chlorine from salt, which is then used to sanitize the water in the hot tub. This system can be an alternative to traditional methods of water treatment, such as using chlorine tablets or bromine.

There are several potential benefits to using a salt water system in a hot tub. One advantage is that it can be less harsh on the skin and eyes than traditional chlorine-based sanitizers. It may also produce a softer, silkier feel to the water and be easier to maintain overall. In addition, the salt in the water can help to balance the pH levels and make the water feel more natural.

However, there are also some potential downsides to using a salt water system in a hot tub. One potential issue is that the salt can be corrosive to certain types of metal, such as brass and copper. It is important to carefully read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure that the salt water system is compatible with the hot tub and its components. Another issue is higher chlorine levels and potentially more chemical balancing. Salt water systems can also lead to more calcium deposits in the tub, which can be harder to clean and potentially shorten the lifespan of components.

Sundance® Spas offers an alternative with their ActiveOxygen™ and CLEARRAY® systems, which use ozone and UV lighting to sanitize the water naturally. While these systems do require some supplemental chemicals, they can result in more natural-feeling water and lower maintenance costs.

Overall, it’s important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding on a salt water or alternative hot tub system.

Do I need to have a certain platform to install my hot tub on?

Yes, hot tubs must be installed on a flat, level surface to ensure that they are stable and safe to use. A hot tub that is not installed on a level surface can be unstable, which can be dangerous for those who use it. In addition, an unlevel hot tub may not function properly, with water that is not evenly distributed and jets that do not work as intended.

There are several types of surfaces that are suitable for hot tub installation, including a SmartDeck, a reinforced deck, a patio, pavers, or a concrete pad.

When choosing a surface for your hot tub, it’s important to consider the weight of the hot tub and the structural requirements of the surface. A hot tub can be very heavy, so it is important to make sure that the surface you choose can support its weight. In addition, it is important to make sure that the surface is level, as an unlevel surface can cause problems with the operation of the hot tub.

Do I need an electrician or special wiring for a hot tub?

Most hot tubs require special wiring to operate safely and efficiently. Depending on the model you choose, with the exception of plug-and-play models, you may need to have your hot tub wired by a licensed electrician. The cost of electrical installation for a hot tub can vary widely, depending on factors such as the size of the hot tub, the complexity of the installation, and the location of the hot tub. On average, you can expect to pay between $500 and $1,500 for electrical installation for a hot tub, although prices may be higher or lower depending on your specific circumstances.

To ensure the safety of your hot tub and those who use it, it is important to have your hot tub wired by a licensed electrician who is knowledgeable about the specific requirements for hot tubs. In addition to installing the necessary wiring, an electrician may also recommend installing a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outside as an emergency disconnect for the hot tub. This can make it easier for service technicians to access the hot tub if needed and can help protect against electrical accidents.

Can I put my hot tub inside or outside?

Hot tubs can be used both indoors and outdoors. They’re designed to be used in various climates. It all depends on your preferences and the layout of your home.

There are a few things to consider when deciding where to place your hot tub.

One factor to consider is convenience. If you plan to use your hot tub frequently, you may want to place it in a location that is easy to access, such as near the main entry point of your home. This can be especially important in the winter months, when you may not want to walk far in the cold to get to your hot tub.

Another factor to consider is service access. It’s important to make sure that your hot tub can be easily serviced by technicians, which may be easier to do if it is placed in an accessible location.

You should also consider hazards such as water and snow runoff from the roofline, as well as privacy. Placing your hot tub in a location that is protected from the elements and offers privacy can help ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Ultimately, the best location for your hot tub will depend on your specific needs and preferences, as well as the layout of your home. Consider the pros and cons of both indoor and outdoor placement, and take into account factors such as convenience, service access, and privacy when deciding where to place your hot tub.

Does more jets mean better massage?

While it may seem that hot tubs with more jets would provide a better massage, this is not the case. In fact, the number of jets in a hot tub is not necessarily a good indicator of the quality of the massage it can provide.

At Great Bay Spa & Sauna, we believe that the key to a great massage is not the number of jets, but rather the design and placement of the jets. Sundance® Spas uses advanced jet technology, called Fludix® jets, to deliver targeted, adjustable massage to specific areas of the body, rather than relying on sheer volume to deliver a massage. This allows you to target specific muscle groups and help alleviate tension and soreness.

In addition to deep tissue massage, Sundance® Spas also offers Swedish-style massages and Shiatsu pressure point-style massages.

By offering a variety of massage options, Sundance® Spas allows you to choose the massage experience that best meets your needs and preferences. Whether you want a deep tissue massage to work out knots and tension, or a gentler Swedish-style massage to relax and unwind, you can find a hot tub that delivers the massage you want.

To find the hot tub that is ideal for you, we recommend scheduling a wet test at our showroom. During a wet test, you can try out different hot tub models and experience firsthand what it’s like to sit in them and use the various features—including the various massages they offer.

What does Plug and Play mean?

A “plug and play” hot tub is a type of hot tub that can be plugged into a standard household outlet rather than being hardwired into your home’s electrical system. This makes it easier to install and set up, as you don’t need to hire a licensed electrician to make the connection. Instead, you can simply plug the hot tub in and start using it right away.

While plug-and-play hot tubs are convenient and easy to use, it’s worth noting that they are generally less powerful and have fewer features than hardwired hot tubs. If you want a hot tub with more advanced features or higher power, you may need to opt for a hot tub that requires hardwiring. In this case, you will need to hire a licensed electrician to make the connection to your home. If you need help finding an electrician, our team can provide you with suggestions and supply the wiring specifications to ensure that the installation is done safely and correctly.

What’s the difference between a hot tub with a lounger and a hot tub without?

A lounge seat in a hot tub is a dedicated seat that is intended for the use of one person. Whether or not a lounge seat is a good choice for you is a matter of personal preference and will depend on your individual needs and preferences. Some people may find that a lounge seat is more comfortable for them, while others may prefer a traditional seat or a recliner seat.

It’s worth noting that a lounge seat can take up 1-2 traditional seats, so if you have a smaller hot tub or you want to be able to accommodate more people, you may want to consider this when deciding on the type of seats you want in your hot tub. Additionally, if you tend to float in a hot tub, a lounge seat may not be the most comfortable option for you. Ultimately, the best seat for you will depend on your personal preferences and how you plan to use your hot tub. To get a better idea of which hot tub is right for you we offer wet tests. During a wet test, you can try out different hot tub models and experience firsthand what it’s like to sit in them and use the various features. This can help you get a better sense of which hot tub is the best fit for your needs and preferences.

Is a Smaller Hot Tub more efficient?

While the size of your hot tub may not directly impact its power consumption, there are other factors that can affect how much energy your hot tub uses. The number of pumps and jets that your hot tub has, as well as the type of technology it employs, (SmartTub®), can all play a role in how much energy it consumes.

For example, two hot tubs of different sizes may have the same number of pumps and jets and be configured in the same way, but if one of them is equipped with a SmartTub® system, it may be more energy efficient than the other. This is because the SmartTub® app allows you to control energy savings, filtration, temperature, lighting, jets, and more— all of which can impact operating costs.

One way to compare the power consumption of different hot tubs is to look at their operating costs. For example, if two hot tubs have similar pump and jet configurations but different sizes, their operating costs may be similar even though their size is different. The Sundance® Spas Marin® and Sundance® Spas Cameo® are both examples of hot tubs with similar operating costs despite being different sizes.

What size hot tub do I need?

There are several factors that you should consider when deciding on the size of a hot tub:

  1. The number of people: Think about how many people you envision using the hot tub at the same time. And how often that will be. A larger hot tub will be necessary if you want to accommodate more people. You may also find that even if two people are using the hot tub, you may want a larger one so you can move around the various seats.
  2. Space: Consider the amount of space you have available for your hot tub, both indoors and outdoors. Make sure you have enough room to accommodate the size of the hot tub you are considering.
  3. Budget: Hot tubs come in a range of sizes and prices, so you’ll want to consider your budget when deciding on the size of your hot tub.
  4. Purpose: Consider why you want a hot tub and how you plan to use it. If you want a hot tub for relaxation and stress relief, a smaller hot tub may be sufficient. If you want a hot tub for entertaining or to use as a social gathering place, a larger hot tub may be a better choice.

In general, a hot tub that can comfortably seat 4-6 people is a good starting point, but ultimately the size of the hot tub you need will depend on your specific needs and preferences. You can use our Hot Tub Builder to find the hot tub that fits your specific needs and preferences, including size, number of jets, features, and price.
